Not every town can boast a plant of its own. Cieszyn not only has such a plant but also has it named after the town. This plant is cieszynianka wiosenna, with its Latin botanical name – Hacquetia epipactis.
An old and common truth says that everybody who wants to erect a permanent and safe structure must build it on stable and secure ground, on a hard base, i.e. a rock.
Cieszynkas are small-calibre hunting rifles for hunting sitting birds. There were made in Cieszyn from the second half of the 16th century onward, but came into their own in the 17th century specifically when they began to be bought by wealthy individuals who not only appreciated the guns’ performance but also the beauty of the marquetry and incrustation they were decorated with.
